Frequently asked questions

Which prop firm has the widest maximum loss?

In forex, the widest is E8 One (14% drawdown) at 14% (trailing); among static ones, FundingPips 2 Step Flex at 12%. In futures the limits are in dollars and equal 2.7%–4% of the account, all of them trailing. Sort the table by “Maximum loss” to see it for your account size.

Is a static or a trailing maximum loss better?

Static is easier: the floor doesn’t move even when you make money. Trailing rises with your highest balance, so a good run followed by a bad one can fail the account even while you are still in profit. If it trails, check where it locks (initial balance, target…) and whether it is calculated at the end of the day or in real time.

Why compare in percent and not only in dollars?

Because each firm offers different account sizes. When sorting, the table compares limits as a % of the account, so 5% on 10K and 5% on 100K weigh the same. Pick one size to see the exact amounts for all of them at once.
