The pip value is what you make or lose when the price moves one pip. It is the pip size times the contract size: on EURUSD, 0.0001 × 100,000 = $10 per lot.
If the pair isn’t quoted in your account currency (USDJPY in a euro account, for example), it has to be converted at the exchange rate, which is why the value changes a little every day.
On pairs quoted in dollars (EURUSD, GBPUSD, AUDUSD…) it is $10 per lot, $1 per mini lot (0.10) and $0.10 per micro lot (0.01). On yen pairs it is ¥1,000 per lot, about $6–7 depending on the exchange rate.
On XAUUSD most brokers call a $0.10 move a pip. With 1 lot (100 ounces) each pip is worth $10 and each dollar the price moves, $100.
Because it converts at its real-time price and this uses the ECB daily reference rate. On pairs quoted in your own currency there is no difference.
